To replace an open circuit length on a headtorch I need a short, 18 inch length of two core insulated cable with an overall outside diameter of up to 2.5mm. This is 'not side' by side, figure of eight style cable, it's two insulated wires inside an outer, round section plastic sheath. Current capability is minimal, to power an LED. All costs met.
Otherwise if anyone knows where I can buy a short length, maybe a metre, please let me know. Thanks.

For this sort of thing I've generally hacked-apart an old phone-headphone lead, or a now-redundant SCART-to-phono-plugs cable. There must be loads of such trash-cables about just waiting to be harvested.

Thin wire = breaks easily so I would use a suitable single screened audio cable, or
even a thin RF coax e.g. RG174AU. |

Lokk at the CCTV shotgun cable. that is a figure of eight cable consisting of a coax and a two core stranded power cable. Split it and you have a 2.5 to 3 mm two core cable on its own. I do this all the time. I have reels of the stuff, if you need any.

I will take a photo of it and some measurements. If it will do the trick, I can stick some in the post for you.

That looks like it would do the job, I can open up the holes for it to pass through if needed. PM sent.
