Default Hacker Gondolier GP42 and AL41 Amp

Hi all need a little help with my setup.

Both amps have a very loud humming especially when the volume is turned up and more so on the AL41 amp.

As far as I know both amps have Mullard mustards, is there anything else I need to change?

Thanks.

I would start by working out what the fault is. That way you won't change anything pointlessly. Mullard mustards are normally extremely reliable.

Cheers,

GJ

As a very general rule - volume dependent hum is a grounding issue - check the connections from the cartridge through to the amp(s).

Is there still hum when the stereo adaptor is completely dissconnected and you are running the GP42 as a standalone player. There may be an earth loop.
