Default I've moved.

Hi to all.
I've not been on here for quite some time. Although I've been on to read some posts I've not contributed for quite a while. Life has been very hectic as we have now moved. We now live in a beautiful 16th century cottage on the Herefordshire and Worcestershire border. Our closest town being Bromyard. We are now very remote situated about half a mile off the nearest road down a farm track. I have a new wireless room to set up and get my bench sorted. I now have the majority of my radios set up around the cottage. Signal is good here so far. This was after one evening all of a sudden all my radios suffered massive interference intermittently. The station was loud and clear and suddenly would go to very loud MW buzz. I managed to narrow it down. It was when Kate was in the spare room with the light on. Switching the light bulb on and off caused the interference to go and come back. I checked the bulb and was of the 3 led type. I've changed the bulb for another led type and the problem has vanished. Amazing how it killed all the sets plugged in instantly. Anyway, glad that one is sorted. Looking forwards to getting my wireless room set up for some more repairs out the to do pile. So that's about all my news. Hope to be on here a bit more now with some more interesting repairs.
Dave.

Congratulations Dave, looks a nice place. Forget medium wave and take up amateur radio on short wave. With that location you should do well.

All the best.

Oh very nice, similar to our location in Dorset. I do like the country.

We love Dorset, Peter. We know it well. We love Lyme bay area and Chideock areas. Where abouts are you?

What a beautiful place to live! It’s always hectic and stressful moving, great when it’s all over though

I’ve got some 12v LED lights in my workshop that blot our FM radio completely when they are on. The interference is bad enough to show on a scope without actually connecting the probe to anything!

Regards
Lloyd

I moved in after a problem with the lease on the old place. We are now 5 minutes from the countryside.
There is a mix of open pasture and hills with quite a bit of post industrial landscape.
I am happy enough.

Dave,

There’s a progression you’ve started on to quote an old wive’s tale - New job, not long ago, New house, New b- - - , and that will be louder than any of your radios.

Having visited your former QTH about three years ago to collect a Unitra Figaro Special radio, I can only say what a contrast your new home and environment is, and how much it will have improved your quality of life. Every good wish and happiness.

That's Lyme Bay you are looking at, we are about 2 miles inland from Charmouth.

Both locations look like dream places to live.
As well as the superb views there looks to be plenty of room for a good sized workshop.
Providing you can avoid using the worst of todays noisy technology you should be able to enjoy really good AM radio reception on the Long Medium and Short Wave bands both local and DX.

Welcome to Herefordshire (or are you just over the border?). It's a great place to live if you've got a decent job or like me, retired. The mud's a bit sticky, though....

Great view isn't it? A bit like my sisters' ones- I just have houses all round to look out at but open country is only a few hundred yards away, t'other side of the tracks

I guess you'll be about ten miles away?
