Default A little random amusement.

Background:
I have TWO of the PYE Cambridge International receivers. One is the first release with the plain gold tuning scale, the other is the updated one with the scale in full colour.

The other day, I decided to clean up the four studs which secure the plate glass tuning scales on either receiver - as you do - both of which were heavily tarnished.

After the expenditure of much elbow grease, and more than a little metal polish, I found that the later model used engine turned brass, while the earlier one appears to be sold copper.

Bean counter interference, perhaps? Image attached.
