DATONG direction finders
Hi,
Just little bit info... Sorry for my poor english. Im from Sweden... I became a member here, and found a lot of information. I see a thread about DATONG radio direction finders. Many only know about DF1 and maybe DF2 models from DATONG. These DFs are doppler direction finders. But there is other models, not so known... I have a DATONG DF6. And its not a doppler, its based on watson-watt. I have manuals, pictures and a brochyre. Model after they called it DF6B and DF6A. |

Re: DATONG direction finders
After a successful beginning in amateur radio, Datong moved into the security industry, offering bug detecting and direction finding equipment to governments and spooky organisations. Information on their equipment vanished from the amateur radio arena. So your direction finder is very interesting.

Re: DATONG direction finders
Hi PatrikE,
Welcome to the forum and if the DF6 is your first DF set the world of DF as well. I have a DF1 and DF2 and have used the DF1 on 2 m DF events. Do you know P-A from the Swedish ARDF team? I cannot recall his callsign but can look it up. Best wishes, Geoffrey.

Re: DATONG direction finders
Hi,
Thanks, I put up also the manual for the first DF6. I think UK OFCOM was using DATONG DFs. Here in Sweden, our OFCOM is PTS, i was working there before on spectrum enforecment. and PTS only use R&S mostly DDF195. I dont know about our ARDF. I have always been interested in DFs. And built several different models. The watson-watt DFs is good. Allmode, FM, AM, SSB, CW. br Patrik |
