Value of Radios, TVs etc
Requests for valuation of radios, TVs and other equipment seem to crop up on a regular basis. Clearly, condition and rarity are key factors but a guideline to value can sometimes easily be obtained from eBay using the advanced search link and ticking the box for sold listings. Mods might wish to consider making this a sticky thread. Furthermore, the BVWS Auctions website lists previous sale values and is easily searched https://www.bvws.org.uk/auctions/results.php .Jerry

Re: Value of Radios, TVs etc
It's almost always new members who seek valuations.
New members don't read stickies, if they did we wouldn't get so many threads from new members regarding record players.

Re: Value of Radios, TVs etc
Perhaps there should be a "Please read this first" thing when joining pointing out that most (nearly all) vintage radios/grams/tvs have very little monetary worth (an oxymoron if I ever saw one).
What are mine worth?? a few examples... EKCO A22, expensive, an icon. love using it, more of a display item though and many hours of work. Perdio transistor set, only a fiver from a charity shop, one of the first to give cheap radio to the masses. Love it to bits. DAC90A, another icon but cheap this time. Which one would I pick as the only one I could keep, the Perdio. |

Re: Value of Radios, TVs etc
Those of us who see and have to deal with new registrations know that adding more "requirements" won't help.
I am afraid that Grahams take is the reality no one will read it, there is already a Sticky for Radiograms and that doesn't get read either. So sadly valuations will continue to be something requested from time to time. On the up side those items often get offered here and re-homed so its not all bad Time to close this thread. Cheers Mike T
