Question Toshiba SM 3150

Hi All,
I have just acquired a lovely Toshiba SM 3150.
Everything appears to be ok with the radio, the record player of course needs a new belt, The tape deck is my problem.......
The tape deck plays and functions correctly, however the right level needle jumps straight up to 7 and occasionaly moves to around 4... The sound is also only coming out of the left speaker.
Any advice on what to look for and how to check it would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards, Keith.

Is there no sound on the RH channel from all signal sources or just from the tape?

The first thing to do with this sort of gear is to clean all the switch contacts with contact cleaner, particularly those on the record/play switch.

Hi Paul, Just a buzz from the RH Channel. But Radio and record play sound OK through both.

Hi Edward, I am new to the world of forums. Both the radio and record player are playing fine through both channels. The cassette player is the only one that doesn't. Left is fine and just a quiet hum through the right side.
