Default Re: Valve boxes - bulk order?

I currently have a suitably large order from 8 members based on this pricing. Let's see what we can do. I will report back shortly.
I have emailed a couple of valve suppliers but no reply.
I will also check die-cut box manufacturers when I have time.
But for now I think we have a good solution to current needs.
regards

Hi Jeremy, just seen this thread.

I would happily take 100 x small and 100 x medium boxes, if this helps.

Thanks. Simon.

Hi All,

A suggestion for a UK supplier.

Have you tried Edicron? They have a website.

No connection to me other than that's where we get our valve supplies from at work.

Cheers,

Howard

Update:
To get things going I have sent off an order to the NZVRS chap today. This will cover orders from:
Me
GrimJosef
Stephen
Hermit6345
McMurdo
Jim_jobe
Oldticktock
Howard
Phil G4SPZ
All others (incl Thermionic and BrianC) will unfortunately have to await a new order, as the box is FULL, according to our NZ chum! We may find alternative local (or even far-eastern suppliers) for future orders but this sorts out the immediate demand.
It's coming "economy mail" which saves £20+ but takes a few weeks longer.
I will alert all when this large package arrives and I'll see about collecting funds and parcelling it out at that stage.

Ta from me too Jeremy. And, in due course, from SWMBO who is despairing at the untidy state of the garage, at least part of which is due to loose valves being scattered far too widely around it !

Cheers,

GJ

Well, my cheque has reached NZ (amazingly that is what they suggested - a ££ cheque apparently works fine out there!), and they will hopefully get the box of goodies off to us soon

I'm also standing by with a moderate order. If you wanted to use a US source, it might be possible to combine the international shipment with one of ours - I regularly have gear going back and forth to North Carolina and our guys there might be able to add the box to an existing shipment at reasonable cost. PM me if this ever turns out to be of interest, but I'll chip in with an order whichever way.

Andymic, Lucien,
If you care to PM me with possible box types and quantities I will add you to the back-order list (which currently contains potential orders from Thermionic & BrianC).

Lucien, the idea of a joint parcel (or any cheaper freight!) is indeed attractive. The main issue is that a couple of thousand boxes weigh rather a lot. The best postage deal from TubeDepot was $160 via courier for about 2000 boxes, with a possible saving of $30-40 if we sent it unregistered post. In the end we went for a better overall deal from NZ, with postage still at about £100.

I have asked the NZ sender for weight and size, which I will pass on to you via PM to look at.

For info to existing orderers, the box left NZ on 2nd Feb and will take "between 13 and 25 days". I'll update as soon as they arrive.

Many thanks

Update:
The box is in the UK with ParcelForce and I have just paid the VAT. I should get it delivered in the next few days. Once I have packaged everyone's order separately I will advise total amount I need from you incl postage. I will assume that everyone is happy with whatever is the cheapest postage method. Anyone who wants to collect is very welcome to do so.
all the best

That's good news Jeremy, thanks for all your good work. I would collect but it's a bit too far to travel. I'm quite happy with whatever is the cheapest postal option. I can't remember if I gave you my postal address, I will drop you a PM with it in case I didn't.

Don't forget Harpenden! If Pamphonica, or somebody who can collect from him before then, can bring them on the 7th then buyers can pick them up.

You are welcome to leave the packages behind the B&B stall. Please label them with their intended recipients.

Fantastic news Jeremy, finally I can bring order to my chaotic valve collection. My time did fly, it does not seem that long ago we placed the order
