Update:
I changed 2 electrolytic capacitors on the power board and put in a new transformer for the 31 v side.
In fact I ended up using a 3 amp 28 volt transformer and the radio and record player is working very well " I will add another transformer for the 5.8v lighting later.

Good news, I presume then that the rectifier was ok.
