Question Anyone going near Maidenhead in a couple of weeks?

Hi Folks
There is a Saba radiogram chassis on ebay that is collect only - I am only watching it at present, but will bid if anyone can pick it up for me.

Auction ends 13-Sep-06 19:14:05 BST

Anyone near who will be going to Harpenden?

TIA

Hi Mike,
I live in Maidenhead so could pick up for you.
Have seen many mentions of "Harpenden" on here but am not sure what/when it is?!?!?
I will be visiting my Father in October, he lives in Kirkbymoorside. Maybe we could arrange a meet?
Cheers, Percy.

Harpenden (in Hertfordshire, a little north of St Albans) is where the BVWS holds national meetings 3 times each year. The next one is on 1st October. These meetings are open only to BVWS members and their guests. There is an auction , a flea market and whatever other attractions can be arranged. I organise a programme of talks and demonstrations. Thanks, Percy - sounds good! I will PM you if I manage to bag it.

Thanks for the info, (actually only said i didn't know what/when, i had where covered!! ). Am not a member of BVWS (not sure what that is either! Ppppppenguin?) so guess not invited ! Doesn't being a member of this forum get me in, i think i'd like to go and maybe i could meet Mike there and give him the Saba if he wins it!!
Cheers, Percy.

Percy,

See the BVWS Website for information on its objectives, membership, events, etc.

You've got a bit confused Percy. This site [UVRRR] is run and owned by a generous private individual who gives open access. The BVWS is an equally friendly zone but it's events are only open to fee paying members. There are many BVWS people on here but the only connection is a link from that site and the word Vintage in both names! I hope that's a help to you as, although the owner makes the seperation very clear, it is possible to make a mistaken assumption. Cheers Dave Walsh.

I didn't get the chassis - someone must have wanted it more than I did!
So, Percy and GMB, thank you both for your offers to collect it.

Moderators - this thread can be closed - thanks.
