Radford Monitor speakers
Just got hold of some Radford Monitor speakers which sound wonderful (Thankyou Martyn), want to have a look inside but not sure how to tackle the grilles, think they just pull off from front but seem tight and don't want to risk damage, I have some Radford bookshelf speakers and these have grilles that defy removal but the rear panel is screwed to allow access.
Any help appreciated. Thanks, Simon. |

Re: Radford Monitor speakers

Hi Trevor
Will do , just had another go and still no good. I'm sure they must be on pegs but seem well stuck. Cheers Simon |

Re: Radford Monitor speakers
You have not stated which version of the Monitor series you have. Do study the detailed photos which can be easily searched. If yours are Radford Monitor 60s, then it looks like Velcro, which mean the grille cloth may have to be peeled off.

Re: Radford Monitor speakers
Why didn't I think of that, they are the first ones when google radford monitor speakers, clicking on the link look like metal spring type clips so can imagine pretty stuck . Does anyone have any details on this speaker.

Re: Radford Monitor speakers
Success, managed to get the grills off, I was going for the middle thinking more give but following bit of search read somewhere go for a corner , used the flattest kitchen knife and they pinged off suprsingly easy with no damage, don't think ever been off before. Everything looks in order and sounding wonderful.
Any info on the speakers specs etc much appreciated as the paper labels long since gone. Cheers Simon. Chris If yours are the bookshelf ones they will not budge and wouldn't even try, unless someone knows different. |

Re: Radford Monitor speakers
Can you post a photo of the driver fronts and backs? They might be Radford's own - I have a couple of steel plates with Radford mid and HF drivers fitted, which might belong to that size of cab. My own are the huge S60s, which used imported drivers. I would be interested to know the dimensions and design of a cab that used these spares I have.
