Default Please identify Woden mod trans

In my pic starting from the bottom is a UM1 and then a UM2 both marked as such.

The top trans - is it a UM3 or 4. It's definitely a Woden and it's 5-1\4" square but has no identifying marking. I have the data sheet which gives connections and impedances but no physical sizes.

Any ideas please.

Jim

An audio generator and voltmeter will allow you to measure the turns ratios, which might help.

Have you seen this VMARS page? All the sizes are listed there.

The weight should be a giveaway - 15 or 41 lbs!

Thanks folks for your ideas. I hadn't seen that spec.sheet despite searching for some time.

It's a UM3 and weighs 15 lbs, the easiest way to identify it.

I hadn't realised either that a UM4 was so big, no mistaking one when you try to lift it.

I think mods that this thread could be weighed out, thank you.

I wonder if Woden ever sold any of the UM4s in the UK? I've never seen one myself. Its ratings (250W audio power) are way above anything legal in the UK for amateurs at the time that AM was popular (well that still applies of course). So they must have been aimed at the commercial market - but I've not seen a transmitter which has one fitted.
