Re: How many variations of AVO test set exist?
Hi Aitor,
Since nobody has answered this. The Original Military Test Set, one could argue was actually the Model 48A made for the British Admiralty. (Nice Wooden Box with external Shunts and a Transformer). This was also available commercially with the option of a Model 40 or Model 7. Regarding the Test Set Multi-range No 1, which I guess is really your question, this was available in 4 versions, but was really only a Meter in a Bag with Leads!. Test Set Multi-range No 1 (Not officially called a Mk 1) Model 9sx (Later versions the 9sx was dropped from the ident) Familiar Military Olive Green soft Vinyl Case. A NATO Style Hard Black Vinyl case was available later on. Don't know if this was ever supplied with new Sets, or only as a replacement Case. It is different to the later NATO style case found in the Mk2/3/4. Multimeter Test Set No 1 Mk 2 (Notice the subtle name change for the Mk 2) Model 8 Mk V (same as commercial Mk V but with non latching Rev MC) NATO Style Black Hard Vinyl Case Multimeter Test Set No 1 Mk 3 (Not sure of the different from the Mk 2 but might be the later Mk V variant) Model 8 Mk V (same as commercial Mk V but with non latching Rev MC) NATO Style Black Hard Vinyl Case Test Set No 1 Mk 4 (Notice the subtle name change again for the Mk 4) Model 8 Mk VI or Mk VII (same as commercial AVO but with non latching Rev MC) NATO Style Black Hard Vinyl Case Seems there are Two versions of the Test Set No 1 Mk 4, one has an 8 Mk VI and another version has the 8 Mk VII.
