There is a very useful technical comparison of R-1000 vs FRG-7700 in the December 1981
and January 1982 issues ;

Click on the 'download' button at the top of the page for the whole manual otherwise you can pick and choose individual pages.

Again many thanks Martin that's the same sort of copy resolution I now have in hand, but compared to others I have in PDF this one is the best so have downloaded and over the next few days will do with user guide and survival guide too. Its helping a great deal at the moment and I have also managed to locate an FRT7700 aswell at a very good price which I shall be adding to my fully working second version of this receiver as the first one was not such a good bye! Same as I have a Trio R-1000 and that's as bad! But again found an excellent second and started to iron out some of the problems with the first and looking forward to upgrading the display module with one that I posted a link to on the forum recently once I'm more familiar with the service manual and as to all the components they appear to remove around the LSI chip! Seems a bit odd though as you can pick up the frequency reading from Pin 8 of the SN chip and the ground pin is just the other side of the circuit! Anyway shall endeavour and see what becomes of it.Meanwhile I'm trying to contact the Parts Graveyard part of the Fox Tango site but to no avail yet as the mail comes back unsent or rejected by server so the story and search continues as I'm looking for a replacement Band encoder with and possible VFO as both suspect at the moment.
