Default Cassette deck spare parts

An elderly chap has given me an old Decca cassete recorder to repair.

Where have all the suppliers for generic spare parts gone? I need a mono cassette head and a pinch wheel; the ony company I have found offering these is Wagner in Australia.

Regards

Kevin

Kevin, can't help with pinch roller but I've an 'as new' mono head, the type with a 'guide' attached to the side. I could also let you have a old cheapie mono cassette machine which has a still quite decent pinch roller (not shiny and still feels quite rubbery), I was just keeping it for parts as it's rubber drive belt has gone. Off to see a relative in Normanton on Friday so if any are useful I could drop them off en route.

Cricklewood list a pinch roller. No details of sizew etcq but only £1 and most likely to be a generic cassette typ. Worth a punt?

A couple of pinch rollers still availablke from CPC: http://cpc.farnell.com/webapp/wcs/st...pinch%20roller

Heads seem to have disappeared about 5-10 years ago.

I've now found some NEW pinch rollers I'd forgotten I had; (hadn't put them with the other, VHS, pinch rollers but in the 'belts' box)

They're the same type that CPC sell (or used to sell)

Many thanks to you all, I have bookmarked tyhe pages you highlighted.

I wonder why Wagner Australia seems to have such a good range of these items, when no one else keeps them?

Regards.
