Default How can I get back into Electrotanya?

Had a user name and password for Electrotanya but being away and not using it they have pulled my plug.
Now I can't log in nor can I create a new account as it just tells me that my email address is already registered,,, I think,,, my Hungarian is er...non existant!

I do understand that I will have to me tested but I can't get that far.

How about creating yourself a second email account and then creating a new Electrotanya account using that?

Did you try requesting a new password ? just enter email address & (I think) they'll send a new password.

Oh no not another email account! Suppose its one way though.

Yes, asked for a new password, it asks for the email address, then tells me it is already registered, I think!

There's 3 tabs at the top - login, create account, and request new password - I thought, via the 3rd. tab, it would just sent a new password for your existing email address (like the usual forgotten password links).

It does, but to get a new password, it asks you again for the email address and round we go again!

Ah - not so useful then.

Not sure if it'll help in the mean time, but even without an account I'm able to download a couple of manuals a day, free of charge - I normally just google the model of equipment I'm looking for + manual + elektrotanya, and then just use the relevant link from google. No need to register or login.

I know I can access a small amount of their files but it feels like freeloading when I'm not registered. Any Hungarian speakers on the forum who could do a site translation?
The instructions don't seem to relate to the menus anymore either, its a difficult but useful site.

Sorry Terry, I'm confused.
Isn't it bad form to copy whole data sheets over?

Have you tried Google translate? Set input language to Hungarian, output to English, type www.elektrotanya.com into the left box and click on the link on the right.

Google cannot translate for some odd reason.
Last time I took a test to join I remember that the questions were couched in a peculiar manner, I might fail even if I get in.

I use Chrome and have just clicked the link in post#11. It opens the page and then I right click on the page and select 'Translate to English' and 1 second later it has done it.

I know that you've had difficulties gaining access to certain sites and with the functionality of internet from your current location. However, I'm puzzled about the need to use 'google translate' to translate from Hungarian into English to help you gain access when the site itself will translate into English (with certain limitations). I only use the site maybe twice a year so there's no point in my registering as it cancels membership if you don't use the site within 6 months. Hence, it would just remove my membership if I didn't use it within that duration.

I've just brought the site up and have taken some screen shots, and certainly from here in the UK, in the top L.H. menu it clearly has a tab to translate the site into English, and when you open that tab, there are other screens which give additional information. (All of the red rings around text to highlight it are on the site - I haven't added them).

As to gaining access, from what you say, it knows your email address so won't let you register as a new user. It might be worth entering your e-mail/username and an invalid password then to use the 'Request a New Password' facility. It should then email you a link to enter a new password. (On the last pic showing the log in facility and 'change password', the red ring on that pic is mine - not on the site).

Hope that might help a bit.

Good luck with it.

The chap who runs this site is very helpful. His name is Pihe. I forgot to log on for more than 6 months and so access was denied. I just wrote to him at this address and he restored me.....

elektrotanya@gmail.com

Drop him a note if you continue to have problems. BTW logging in actually only allows you a little extra downloading ability.

Guess what, I've expired again! Doh!

Funny that, its what happened to me! It's with going away for winter, the electronic brain switches off.

I'll try contacting Pihe, nothing else seems to work. My email address seems to be in a recursive loop.
Besides, I may not get the questions right, Doh!
Sam.

The pdf in my post is the translated webpage to ask for a new password, not a data sheet of anything.

Posted as pdf as it is clearer than a downsampled jpg.

Sam.

The attachment to post #9 is definitely a screen shot of Electrotanya's password reset page in pdf format. It is not a Dual service manual.

There is a problem at your end. Perhaps you haven't closed a previously opened pdf file?

This is bizarre, my screen shows a pdf Electrotanya.pdf (210.6kb, 37 views ) and opens as the Dual file. I have deleted all pdfs in adobe, deleted the post and reloaded and it comes back the same! The quote in #18 is of post #9, its what my screen shows, the same file!
I have just tried it again, it loaded the same damn file again!
For some reason my computer is loading the file from memory every time it sees electrotanya.pdf, yet I have deleted the DUAL file from memory and my documents file is closed. Where it finds it I have no idea.
Sorry Terry but perhaps you can understand my confusion, its just not logical.
Sometimes I think the devil is in this computer along with the ants.
There is a long story about this years problems with this computer on the Golbourne forum, I won't post it here, its too OTT.
We do many miles, many hours in transport on land sea and air, and access dozens of wifi sites whilst away. The hardware gets a hard life and picks up all sorts of bugs and viruses.

Please tell me I am not going mad,,,,,,,Oh here is a pink elephant flying past.
