Marconi 2018 help needed
Thanks for opening my thread! Here’s my issue:
I have a Marconi 2018, not the A version. It has been working fine until recently. I purchased an HP 8924C that I’ve been using to do alignments with on radio equipment, so I haven’t used the Marconi in a few months. Even though it displays incorrectly, it is still generating the correct frequency and modulated signal. When I turn the unit on, an 8 is displayed in the carrier frequency window for a brief few seconds, followed by an 823. When the starting frequency is displayed, 520.0000, it shows as 520.80000. If I change the frequency to say, 27.185 then 27.87500 is displayed. However, the output is actually 27.18500 like I entered. Checking this with a known working radio connected confirms this. It seems to function correctly except for the 8 that continues to be displayed. I have no repair shops nearby, I have no service manual and I have no idea what’s wrong with it. Can anyone help me out on this? I use the HP often but now and then I’d really like to be able to continue to use my Marconi. I know this is a UK based forum but searching for help via Google didn’t really turn up much here in the US. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
