If all else fails ....
It makes a nice warm bed!
It is on and No, I did not put her there. I left the workshop for a few minutes and on return, found her having a quiet nap on the warmed up Rubidium frequency standard!! I didn't have the heart to disturb her. Reminded me of a line by the 2 Ronnies, No wonder the eggs keep coming out cracked!! Christopher Capener

-Conversely, during the planning of Project Blue Peacock, it was intended that the HENS would keep the EQUIPMENT warm.. sounds cute until you realise it involved subterranean nuclear mines planted in Germany, to be detonated if the Russians chose to cross the border! What the hell were they thinking..

I had one that consistently laid double-yolkers, and it wasn't even bred for eggs, it was a meat bird. Went on to die of natural causes, and i miss the blockbusters it generated whilst it's little mates could only produce cookies.
I wonder if your hen could sense the AC before feeling the heat, the same way a hamster in a ball will head straight for power sockets. Dave |

Re: If all else fails ....
Nice photo. Chickens are cute and cheerful to have around the place, but the only radio/electronics aspect is a novel way of reducing the power consumption of the heater in the rubidium standard.
Let's draw this to a close before things go further afield... and bad puns about YIGs. David
