Default Dynatron RG 13 Ether Pathfinder

Hello all. Does anyone know what turntable was originally fitted to these beautiful machines. I want to put mine back to original spec. It's a stereo machine. Many thanks!

Hope I'm not leading you up the garden path here, but if you go to http://www.dynatronmuseum.org.uk/1950's.htm and scroll down, you find the RG13, as the last item on the page, looking like your picture, but called a "Queen Anne".
It might be worth contacting John Howes (via the contact email given on the "Contact Us" page), and asking him about the turntable.
Les.

Did the OP say this was Stereo? Surely not. The autochanger is likely to be a Garrard RC72A, but I cannot see from the photos. I am happy to be corrected.

I read the link that Les provided ,how very interesting the history of the two Hacker brothers, thank you Les. I also wondered if it was a Stereo.
Cheers

The one in the original post is a Queen Anne surely? the Ether Princess models had a more standard radiogram case not the "reproduction" type.
I can't see how it could be stereo, could you post some pictures of the inside?
Steve.

I'm not familiar with this particular Dynatron model but it looks like it was listed in both 1956 and 1959, so it's just possible that some sort of provision was made for stereo reproduction on the later model, but as said, we need more pictures particularly a close up of the radio tuner control panel.

I think the Garrard RC72 would have been used in models of the early 1950's, so in the model under discussion here I think it would have been one of Garrard's later 50's models. Details of the deck fitted now would be interesting - perhaps it's this later deck that's giving the impression that the unit is stereo?

Sorry, but I have to agree with previous posts. This surely can't be stereo, unless extensive modifications have been previously carried out?

From its control panel the amplifier is Dynatron's then current stereo version, and the second 'speaker enclosure will have been external. Tuner is the same Ether Pathfinder as in my mono Dynatron Berkeley (RG11).

My mistake. It's an Ether Pathfinder RG13. Possibly 1958? Definitely stereo!

Looks like you'll need the 'add-on' speaker cabinet if you haven't already got it with the unit - a non-matching type is shown in that link.

More detailed pictures as requested, Ben?

It seems to be quite a rare unit as even the pictures on the Dynatron Museum are just advertising pictures and not of an actual unit - take some nice photos of yours and offer them to the museum

Pathfinder refers to the radio module I think. The RG16 is also stereo but in a different cabinet. There was one listed in a general auction a few weeks back.

The RG16 is on the Dynatron museum website and the deck looks as if it may be an RC88?

Does seem likely. The deck's an RC88/4 in my RG11 Berkeley, and the Queen Anne versions do appear to be Berkeleys in period (and much more costly) cabinets. I wonder what the cartridge would be: mono versions used the Tannoy Variluctance, not easily come by at an affordable price.

What is the arrangement of drivers in the cab? The old stereo Decca SG188 had a central bass driver with a mid range either side in a front no wider than that. Surprisingly with a coherent stereo image!

A close group of three units in the Berkeley, I'll be surprised if the Queen Anne version is hugely different.

That's a nice array. The tweeter and mid-range look like Goodmans units, but what make is that 12" Driver?

This is all very interesting thanks! Here is a picture of its accompanying, perfectly matching speaker (look at the size of it!). And the radio. Some good suggestions. Will get a pic of the current turntable when I can but it looks like a early 70's Garrard, totally wrong.
