Yes, I'm sure it will be. But still slightly sad that such an impotant set will shortly depart over seas. I guess money talks though...

Yes it is a shame but at least it has gone to a good organization that have paid a very large sum for it. They obviously wanted it and at that price it will no doubt be cared for and guarded. Luckily we have a number of 702's in the U.K. so all is not lost.
I would rather see it go to a museum regardless of location than a 'collector' who may not take the care it deserves. I have seen many fine receivers deteriorate, some bought for quite high prices when the new owners have become bored with them, even pushing them into damp sheds. Over all I would say, a good ending for the 702 and I hope the new owners and the visiting public enjoy it. I'm sure they will. J.

Here Here John! Not many of us will be able to see it but at least it is not hidden away by an individual or organisation for private consumption. As you have said, at that price it's going to be a well looked after and important part of the exhibition.
