Spinney STR7 tape recorder
Hi, I'm after a little help concerning a 'Spinney STR7' tape machine.
Having recently lost my father, my mother is obviously still in the grieving process and has dug out dads old machine to try and play back some of the old memories they recorded - I remember the machine from being a kid in the 60's - - sorry I'm waffling on abit - the machine does not work correctly and Ive opened it up to try to see what's up (now I'm not tech savvy so bear with me) I've cleaned out dust and debris, cleaned most pinch and drive wheels and 'heads' but the main rubberised drive wheel has perished to the state of being a sticky mess - finally my question is can I get hold of a replacement or have the rubber replaced ? Re: Spinney STR7 tape recorder
This may well be a re-badged ALBA unit using a BSR TD2 Deck. A photo will help confirm. If so a Pinch wheel may well be found.
