Default Ironic...

Given Mullard's membership of the BVA and its historic restrictive-trade-practices antipathy towards "foreign" valves, I find the markings on this particular 6V6 deeply ironic.

[it comes from a piece of military equipment - the rear side shows its military nomenclature].

At one time I had (and may still have) a 12SK7. Clearly an RCA metal one. Only thing is it was painted red and had a Mullard logo on it (and 'Amerty' IIRC).

As Mullard was Dutch from very early on, and the 6V6 is an American valve, it's the Mullard logo that could be said to be foreign. All vestiges of protectionism were swept away in 1939 anyway.
