Thanks Edward Huggins. I'll check if the TC8H is working and let you know. The other cartridge is an X5M, not a X5H unfortunately!
I've fitted it into the longer casing and it is working up to a point. At low volumes the sound is very good, however when you turn the volume up there is a hum that soon becomes equal to the music level. Could this be because the cartridge output is too high, or maybe if I replace the coax between turntable and amp it would help? |

The BSR X5M will be a good input mV match for the input stage of the Decca although the input impedence is high. These crystal cartridges do not introduce hum, I suspect the screening from the tone arm to the amp's input.
