Stylish radios?
I've always fancied a Braun RT20 radio - more for the style than any appreciation of its technical abilities - but could never afford one. Which radios compare with the RT20 for sheer style? I'd like to find something to grace my breakfast table!

Re: Stylish radios?
Closest would be the REVO Super Connect which although it is a modern internet DAB radio shares much of the minimalist Rams styling of the RT20.

Re: Stylish radios?
The Braun RT20 looks like the sort of radio one saw screwed to the wall in a school hall.
This is what I call stylish, https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/kolsterbr_rp21rp_2.html. OK I accept I am just a little bit biased towards KB Mike |

Re: Stylish radios?
I've always had a bit of a 'thing' for Zenith Trans-Oceanics.
And as a more-modern general-purpose broadcast-receiver, the Panasonic DR48 / RF-4800 http://www.shortwaveradio.ch/radio-e...c-rf4800-e.htm and RF-4900: https://www.universal-radio.com/cata...vr/rf4900.html |

Re: Stylish radios?
A thread from not so long ago might provide a few ideas, though it strayed somewhat from purely aesthetic criteria.
https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...d.php?t=137600 If the breakfast table is near a wall socket, perhaps a Tivoli Model One? Striking in its simplicity, available in a wide variety of flavours, and remarkable sound for its size. Paul Last edited by Paul_RK; 23rd Feb 2018 at 8:14 pm. |

Re: Stylish radios?
How about a Tivoli Audio Model One table-top radio.
Superb sound from a radio the size of a brick. I've had mine 10 years and I still marvel at the lovely sound it makes.

Re: Stylish radios?
I can remember radios screwed to the wall at school - they weren't as stylish as the Braun at my primary school!
Actually, now I come to think of it, they weren't radios on the wall at all but loudspeakers in a wooden box. The radio was in the caretaker's cupboard. Last edited by tigger449; 24th Feb 2018 at 12:50 pm. Reason: Extra detail |
