Default Datron 1071 Lithium Backup Battery

Hello,

I have a Datron 1071 that works ok

Need advice how change the battery without loosing the cal values

it is soldered in not in a socket

I am going to modify to use a 1/2 AA socket

The present battery is dated 1994 and still reads 3.6v

I know I need to piggy back another battery in parallel or have the unit powered but need to un earth the soldering iron

regards

Yes, you're right. Just keep the instrument powered, avoid touching anything lively, and perhaps unplug your iron for a few seconds.

And avoid dragging the solder wire against anything else, or the case.

Have an ask around to see if the calibration parameters can be displayed or downloaded by GPIB, then you can have a safe copy if such a facility exists.
