Default Help with a noisy motor on SANYO G-2612N (portable)

Hello to all.
I'm in the process of cleaning and restoring of a Sanyo G-2612N all-in-one portable system. It's from the 70s, but in a surprisingly good condition.
I'm attaching a picture, as I was preping it for a warm bath

I have cleaned and lubed the record player part, but I have not managed to make the motor completely silent. As I have no previous experience with these systems, I am not sure if it is possible to make them match the performance of a non-portable unit.
I would love to take your view on this matter.
Is there any point to keep trying or should I just accept the fact that it is what it is and live with it? I am no audiophile, and I am not looking for perfection. Just trying to figure out what is normal for this unit.

I will try to post a short video to better ilustrate my point.

All the best, and stay safe!
Michalis

I'm lucky enough to have an identical second unit...
Here are some pictures of the motor removed from the case.
I could unscrew the two long screws at the botom of the housing and that would give me access to the bottom of the motro shaft, allowing for better lubrication.
Howver, I am sceptical to proceed down this path, since there's no guarantee that it will imrpove the situation, and it will ruin the plastic wrap.
I'm thinking to leave it as it is.
Any other views?

Are there any rubber washers or grommets there to absorb vibrations and reduce noise? Perhaps they have gone hard, worth checking.

Its hard to know sometimes. Ive been down this road a few times with Garrard motors, only to find the motor shaft has worn.

As its a 9V dc motor with removable pulley, I wonder if you could sub in a replacement rather than risk butchering what you have...

I have reached to the conclusion that this is as silent as it can be, given the circumstances.
The cassete player is an absolute mess, and even the head has started to rust! Strangely enough, the overall sound performance is not bad at all, so I will use whatever I can from this unit to the other one I have.

The two motors sound almost the same; I have applied one drop of light oil to the top of the shaft, and that has improved the sitation. I think that the oil took some time to have an affect, until it traveled all the way down to the bottom of the motor. Not sure if my assumption is correct, but seems plausible.

Anyhow, I will consider this issue closed, thank you all for the time you spend on this!

Until next time...

Is that "rust" on the record/playback head just oxide dust?
