Re: Pye VT4 Installation Manual
That must be from 1955, Winter Hill channel 9 is not mentioned, that started transmission in 1956.
There is a long number at the bottom of page 12 ending with 7/55, I wonder if that dates the document.

Re: Pye VT4 Installation Manual
There were still plenty of this model about when I started work in the early 1960s. I remember them because of their exceptional picture quality.

Re: Pye VT4 Installation Manual
Does anyone know the model nos. of the equivalent console models? I had one as a teenager (14") with very similar styling, except all control knobs on front below the screen and with those characteristic horizontal dark slats beneath. Must have been d.o.b around mid-1950s, and I inherited it about 1964. Very good picture and excellent sound quality with that large console "speaker box". A "classy" set in its time!

Re: Pye VT4 Installation Manual
the V14 looked a bit like a console version of a V4/VT4. There's plenty to read about on that particular model.

Ah yes. Thanks Kevin - just found a picture on google, and that's the one. A very handsome set.

Re: Pye VT4 Installation Manual
Hi John,
My mistake, my set is a V7 Unfortunately it was stored in a garage since the early 70's before I got it, so is not in brilliant condition. I have only seen one of the flip front sets, I guess they were the last of the 'Washboard' sets? My V09 is the first set using that style of cabinet, I certainly would like to acquire the full range! Re: Pye VT4 Installation Manual
I'd like the 'Continental' variant.

Re: Pye VT4 Installation Manual
The CTM4 "Continental" has a modified VT4 chassis. This is the later version with BREMA IFs 34.65Mc/s vision and 38.15Mc/s sound.
https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...d.php?t=146572 Use the later production VT4 service manual. DFWB. Last edited by FERNSEH; 16th Oct 2018 at 11:52 am. |
