Bush TV22 bezel cleaning
Hello,
I am cleaning my Bush TV22. The greenish bezel around the screen has some dark shadows, looks like grime or soot. The material of the bezel is porous. How can I remove these dark grime shadows from the bezel without smearing it? Kind regards From Eckhard |

Re: Bush TV22 bezel cleaning
The marks show the areas that air passes through carrying dirt. I would suggest careful cleaning with mild detergent to start with. Hopefully it will remove it, otherwise you may have to use something slightly abrasive!
It looks like you are lucky that the finish is in good condition; most seem to suffer from crazing and flaking paint, so you don't want to spoil that. I refinished mine with matt emulsion paint, adding a layer of beeswax polish afterwards. |

Hello chipp1968,
thank you very much for your recommendations! I have washed the bezel with warm water and dishwashing detergent. In a very short time the bezel was clean. The bakelite was polished with paraffine. Kind regards From Eckhard |

Re: Bush TV22 bezel cleaning
Hi All,
Bit of a late reply but I've just got a TV22 recently and I have found that Autosol paste is superb and works quickly and effortlessly on the most dull parts of aged bakelite Cheers Lee
