Hi - can anyone recommend 'JPR Electronics' for reliable / genuine semiconductors ?
https://jprelec.co.uk The website etc. all looks good, so I'm just looking for any comments, good or bad, from anyone who's used them in the past. Thanks, Alan |

They're mentioned here - https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/2sj162-and-2sk105...to-counterfeit.176368/#post-2354070 I searched for "JPR Electronics scam" & "JPR Electronics fake transistors" and only found that one thread. By that reckoning they look kosher.

I am working on an updated version of that spreadsheet. It may be a month or two before it and the full document are ready to be published but I will do a quick run-through for dead links before posting.

This is an updated version of the Vendors spreadsheet in post #89
New entries are shown in red. I have confirmed that all of the links are still active as discussed earlier. There may be a few links that look to be dead but are not. This article from Microsoft explains the problem and how to fix it. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/excel...d7630ba-7ec0-47a6-b8dc-1c03e238c95e I am not a fan of editing the registry and since the websites URLs are given in the spreadsheet it is only a matter of copying and pasting the URL into your browser. Mods: can you delete the old version and redirect to this post? TIA Al

A recommendation for Mirfield Electronics, I just ordered a Tiny SA Ultra (Spectrum Analyser) from them, (a genuine not clone model) good price and next day delivery.
No connection other than happy customer, now playing with it and learning its features amazing unit for price. https://www.mirfield-electronics.co.uk/ https://tinysa.org/wiki/pmwiki.php?n=Main.HomePage

Used to be a shop in Loughborough but now onling - https://www.sinequanon.co.uk/ the website is a bit clunky EG click on fixed resistors and get nothing, click on WW pots - bingo.

Aren't Sinequanon the follow-on from Taurus Electrical which was run by Les?
Les was a BIG fella who could hold a pint in his huge hands and make it look like a half. He was a very amiable fella and I did some business with him in the 70s. His warehouse was absolutely rammed with all manner of components (some of which were rare and exquisite), ex-military surplus and general electrical/electronic bits, and he was always open to a bulk exchange deal. I have fond memories of him. |

I just went on the Bowood site. Sure its still there. However its extremely flakey, with my attempt to look at their capacitor list met with an error "Too many user requests". Once I finally arrived at the metallised film capacitor page, it attempted to download and save the entire HTML for the page to my PC. The resistor selection was extremely limited - didn't find any metal film ones at all. Might have been on a second resistor page but I couldn't find a second resistor page..... These days, I can only say "Could do better"! Richard |
