Default Radio Scale Cord

I am lokking for an old fashion radio scale cord. The type made by braided textile. I have tried fishing lines and metal wire but with not acceptable result.
Do need the textile type.
Glad for any tips where to find it.

When you say you have tried fishing line, what sort do you mean? There are various types, including the braided type shown below which I find works well for restringing radio dial cords.

That's what I use and it's always worked fine.

Are you referring to polyester fabric / "diolen" cord? There's a guy on German ebay selling 0.4, 0.5 and I believe 1.0 mm diolen cords. I recently bought the 0.4 and 0.5 mm, and the appearance and colors are 100% identical to what it replaced in my Beolit 606 from 1960.

But, yes, I don't see why you can't use nylon. Similar properties.

Waxed polyester yarn whipping twine that you can get from ship and canal boat chandlers, is available in a range of diameters and sizes. However, iot is multi-filament twisted rather than braided.

Thats what I use, but make sure it is not the type that goes flat.
Believe it or not the thin layer of stiff wax helps it to grip the drive spindle.

I've also had good results with waxed whipping twine.
