Default Barn find Radio Rentals 202.

This morning a friend who is clearing his late dads small holding found this in a cupboard in the barn. The tuning scale got broken in transit to me but the Bakelite case needed just a quick wipe off of the dust a quick squirt of pledge it now looks like new. The insides are covered with a thin layer of dust. I will delve into the electronics later. Does anyone have a spare tuning scale glass? Please let me know.

Many thanks Bob.

Hi Bob, do you have the missing piece, if so I suggest fitting the pieces together, scanning it and use Photoshop to remove the break lines.
Then print it on something like Safmat and stick it on a new piece of glass.
I have a sheet of Safmat you can have and can cut the glass for you, I can even photoshop the image......

Thanks Peter, The broken piece is missing only a few fine splinters in side the case. Chassis is now out lots of leaking caps, evan a heap of beeswax below the x cap.

I like it, get it working first, the broken dial is a bit of its history you may grow to love the missing bit!

The missing piece looks rather stylish rather like a perfect "V", a piece of coloured plastic would look good in there. Failing that, you could check to see if Richard Booth at Past Times Radio has a spare scale or one very similar.

I reckon I can recreate the missing piece in photoshop, print it on Safmat, cut a new piece of glass, stick it on and wallah.
Go on scan it.
