Stroud Audio - Farrant 30-watt Guitar amplifier any info?
Hello,
30-Watt Farrant Guitar Amplifier with Tremolo – get that instant mid 60’s guitar sound, then all you’ll have to do is perfect the Shadows dance and by the end of the year you’ll be on Top of the Pops This came to light in the last fortnight proving the odd guitar amp gem can still be unearthed. It was made by a company going by the name Stroud Audio, based in the Gloucestershire area using the name Farrant amplifiers. These were regularly advertised in the back pages of Practical Wireless between 1962 and 1966 see advert attached (thanks to the useful World Radio History site). The company ceased trading in 1968. The chap who ran the company went by the name of Stewart Farrant. Does anyone know anything about this company? Regards Terry |
