Probably not proteced by copyright in the USA. Before US copyright law changed circa 2000, it was necessary to file a copy of a work with their Library of Congress to get copyright protection there, and many non- US concerns didn't bother, especially for what were probably considered to be ephemeral works of little ongoing commercial value. That is why US sites can quite legally host works that are copyright-protected in other countries.
