It's some ad alright, though by no means on it's own for wild and bizarre claims by obscure manufacturers of snake oil in those days. I often wonder how many people were ripped off and became disillusioned with the hobby?

There have always been aerial cons and they continue to the present day with those flat plate digital HD aerials with 46dB gain 70 miles range or whatever.
