Default Dial Lamps

Hi

Looking on an interesting website, Nostalgia Air which I found from member egrandUS (see this thread http://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/s...042#post980042 post#10 there's a useful reference to dial lamps on this page http://www.nostalgiaair.org/References/lamps/

What I'd like to know is did the British manufacturers have a code for their lamps? I see for example the colour of the glass bead for the wire supports was of relevance. Did we have something similar here in the UK?
