Default Marantz 1040M Amplifier

Just been given one of these as a family repair job. So far I've just got as far as establishing that it's from the Philips interregnum, not as highly regarded as the earlier 1040 (and nothing like it internally) and that service data can be found under PM200 in HiFiEngine (I've downloaded it).


It looks like a very conventional power amp topology for the early '80s with a bit of output protection included. It's in my queue behind a couple of Alfa Montreal ignition modules at the moment so further updates in a week or so....

Edit: Just noticed a strange kink in the pic around the RH top front- it's an unfortunate juxtaposition of a shadow and the top right corner of the front panel!
