Wink Pathe Film Archives

http://www.itnarchive.com/britishpathe/

There is a vast library of stuff here but just try "Television" and
view the item "Seeing by Wireless".

The results obtained by Baird et al back in the late twenties were
clearly much better than anyone has been able to obtain from similar
apparatus today.

I have always visited British Pathe by using this link:-

http://www.britishpathe.com/product_...32&Search.y=15

I've never had any problems, all the preview versions are free, but you need to register. .

Regards, Mick.

Well It took me a while to get the hang of this site, but basicaly once you've selected your clip, you stick it in your "shopping basket" then you effectively "buy" it, but since the cost is £0.00 , no money changes hands. . After you fill in your country and details, you should then be able to download the clip to your hard disc and then play it. I found It more convenient to burn a collection of clips onto a CD for later viewing. If you still have trouble their FAQ page may help. Good luck. .
