Default Hallicrafters Communications Receivers.

The are many websites relating to Hallicrafters Equipment. The following are just two examples.

Hallicrafters Collectors International (HCI):-

http://www.w9wze.org/

The Hallicrafters Museum:-

There is a Discussion Group.

A particular favourite is The SX28 "Skyrider" Communications Receiver. The Manual for this can be downloaded from The Vintage and Military Amateur Radio Society website:-

http://www.vmarsmanuals.co.uk/

or from The Boatanchor Manual Archive-

http://bama.edebris.com/manuals/

One problem with the SX28 is that the capacitors in the RF Section are prone to failure and are difficult to replace due to access problems.

This website describes how to do the job:-

A very comprehensive description of restoration of an SX28 by Emanuele Girlando can be found here:-

Please report any dead or incorrect links via a Personal Message to me.
