Hi. I think many here would say just cut out the suppression capacitor and leave it at that. And may also say, if you really want to have suppression, wire the necessary component(s) in the connector housing. If I did that, and used capacitors only I'd wire as per the attached drawing. I believe I'd need "safety" capacitors. But, would suppression work as good I wonder.
