Default Tandberg series 12

Just got one of these from Ebay.
Its in worse condition than I thought it was ! There are a number of missing parts - most of which I can deal with - screws and spacers.
Channel one did not playback …
The big problem is the ground connection broke off the 1-4 head ...it just fell off, not just the soldering but the entire connection.

I'll have a go at trying to solder it back but might be looking at getting another head.
Strangely the drive belt is okay!!

I have downloaded the service manual and circuit diagram.
Regards Paul

Tandberg made a design change to the 12 at serial number 2209550; prior to that the record/playback switch is an absolute beast to get to work properly, with intermittent connections and pops, clicks and scraping sounds as a result. It's not easy to get at either which makes renovation even more frustrating.

Yeah...…. I've gotta get that pcb out so I can clean the assembly... not looking forward to it ..
attempted to re-solder the wire to the 1-4 side of the head - no go, so may need another.
Bass / treble knob is also missing

The bass and treble knobs are the same as on the models 1200X, 14 and 15 if that's any help.

See this recent thread. Had to fix one of these with very low output on one channel.
Incidentally I m now working on a somewhat bruised series 15 and the treble pot has had a knock, fortunately the wiper, track pcb, knob, thrust washer and shaft are there. Just the silver rear plate is missing so it falls to bits! I mention this as you may be able to reconstruct yours if all the bits are inside the machine.
