Radiomobile 320. - UK Vintage Radio Repair and Restoration Discussion Forum

I recently bought a car which has a Radiomobile 320 radio & it doesn't work. It's definitely getting power - you can hear a slight hiss when its switched on but that's it. I'm not even sure if these old vintage car radios should work any more (MW/LW). Any ideas?

A 320 (a.k.a Motorola 424) was a basic MW/LW radio at the bottom end of the range back in the early 70s, but, having said that it should work, and, provided the aerial is O.K., receive several MW stations (BBC R.5 live, Talksport, R. Wales, Absolute R., plus Radio4, and possible RTE R.1 on LW. These radios, like many others made in the 60s & 70s used AF117 Transistors in the RF & IF Stages. These suffer from the 'Tin Whisker' problem, about which there are many threads on this forum, so my first port of call would be the three 117s, which I regard as 'replace on sight'.
