Cossor MM 501AC Live or Neutral?
Hi the Cosser MM 501AC I am currently working on ( Which appears to have been previously worked on this is the one with some components covered in black cloth backed tape!previous post) It has neutral going to the on off switch then to a tapping I assume at one end of the primary of the MT the live lead goes to the transformer directly then to the voltage selector press studs at the other end of the primary. I will be fitting a mains earth to this. Is it normal practice to swap this round ie live to the switch and neutral to the transformer on this model. Or is it best to leave as is?

Re: Cosser MM 501AC Live or Neutral?
ISTR that switching in the neutral is normal on this set.
The live going to the voltage selector. As its a transformer isolated set it in reality makes no difference. Although the original mains lead has red and black cores a lot of these sets would originally had 2 pin mains connectors meaning there was a 50/50 chance which way around it would be plugged in. IMHO leave as it is and connect the Earth to the chassis Cheers Mike T
