Re: 3-pin mains sockets 1920s?
I moved in 1977 into a house built in the 1930's that had round 3 pin sockets built into the tiled surround of the fireplace. They had a pin that was mounted within the earth socket that when switched on fitted through a hole in the earth pin of the plug to secure the plug - you had to switch off before you could remove or insert the plug. Also fitted in the fire surround were 2 electric fire bars, vertically mounted with a switch underneath. Not very safe as the only protection over the element was a skimpy wire frame consisting of 3 wires. Very easy to touch the element.

Re: 3-pin mains sockets 1920s?
There was a 10A 2-pin, not sure about a 3-pin one.
