Yes - I rang the landlord earlier today and he said the public car park opposite is almost empty on Sundays.

No hot food on Sundays, but sandwiches, pork pies, Scotch eggs etc, which is fine by me.

That's why I mentioned the Fat Cat being nearby as they do hot food between twelve and three, and again later in the evening.

I can certainly recommend the Kelham's pork pies.

Just a little reminder for those attending tomorrow.
BTW how will we recognise each other....... just look for the noisy, unruly mob in the corner?

I'll try to bag us a corner in the backroom so head into there. I'll also tip-off the bar staff to tell anybody who asks.

Hello all,

Is another meet-up being planned? I couldn't make it today owing to a family emergency.

Cheers,
Aidan Lunn

Well, six of us made it (apologies for my late arrival) and I think we all enjoyed it.
Good to meet you all!

I had a great day, nice to meet like minded folk for a quiet drink. Thank you Joe for organising.

Missed the first date but I'm definitely interested as it's a quick run down the M1 for me.

We were a small but select band so it was certainly worthwhile.

There's no reason not to do it again in a while, probably September after the holiday season is over.

I do think that my initial idea of doing it on a week day stands as all the people who did attend could have made it. This is better as far as getting a proper meal (not that that matters much to those who live nearby) and 'buses are concerned. To put the latter into perspective, on Sundays there's one suitable 'bus per hour for me whereas in the week they are every twenty minutes, or every ten if I'm prepared to walk a bit at the 'home' end. This wasn't a problem yesterday as it was decent weather but I wouldn't fancy hanging about if it was siling it down.

Apologies for not attending the meet up yesterday - I will hopefully be able to make the next one. Sorry again!
