Default EKCO SH 25 Volume Control problem solved

The volume control in this 1932 Radio had been damaged, due to having been turned past its' end stop. It is a wirewound pot., with an unusual value of abt 8k3. Not wishing to attempt to rewind the track, or replace the whole control, which includes a concentric local/dx sitch, with something non-standard, I compared its' physical size with a modern Colvern 3W WW Pot., and fitted a 10k insert from one of these inside the original casing(which dissasembles easily, since it is held together with 3 nuts & bolts), reassembled the whole pot, having first, cleaned the switch contacts. The result is a working radio, which still looks original, with the correct knobs refitted, and controls functioning as designed! The Colvern Pots., or a similar, but different brand one are available from RS and Farnell, should anyone else experience a similar problem

Nick,
Sorry, I didn't think about taking photos. Maybe at a more opportune time I will draw sketches showing what's involved
