Default Where to get hold of vintage lamps covers/bezels?

Hallo!

I'm working on a switch board using modern low voltage LEDs but I really like the aesthetic (for this project) of the Edwardian period and I'd like to cover the LEDs if possible with vintage or vintage-look covers such as the attached.

Does anyone know where I could get hold of some? I don't have the budget for Etsy where I've seen some listed!

thanks

This kind of thing might be as close as you'll easily get:

Also try here for new old stock panel lamp holders.

See bottom of page

I have bought items from them before and have a good experience with them. A little slow though I think electrojumble is a one man band so this is fair.

Its not in Britain, but here ?
https://www.evatco.com.au/jewel-bezels
https://www.evatco.com.au/lamp-holder

They are a good company to deal with,
even if a bit distant.

How about these? https://modulusamplification.com/Jew...d-P643418.aspx

You can get LED lamps to fit them...

That is easy. Jewel indicator lamps (and just the Jewels) are readily available because the guitar amp enthusiasts still use them and they are being re-manufactured, there are multiple suppliers, here is just one:

https://www.tubesandmore.com/product...h-40-total-pcs

These typically suit holders SES or similar sized mini bayonet lamps.

The real problem now is when you want to find large glass bezel mains lamps like the types used on vintage industrial switchboards, the type of thing that is about 3/4 to 1 inch diameter with a colored glass lens. These are much harder to get now. Recently for a project I had to wait a long time to find some. These are Japanese made (photo attached) with 120V 7W lamps. This sort of thing is becoming as rare as rocking horse manure. Everyone has gone to LED.

Last time I was at the Akihabara electronics markets in Tokyo, they still had quite a few but most of the shops/stalls there, sadly, are not online.

I could also add... All the original colored bezel lamps of yesteryear were actually made of glass, yes real glass. I still have the odd one that I look at and admire. Unfortunately, all of the modern reproductions I have seen, so far, are plastic. They still look "ok" but they don't quite have the same magic as the original glass types, in my opinion.

.. I could have mentioned, to find the best array of big glass bezel panel lamps, go to ebay.com and search for "Dialco Pilot Lamp"

There are pre made LED's already mounted in the base MES, or bayonet with corresponding voltages. They don't look as good though.
