Post Please help with a schematic (Grundig TK-30)

Hello everyone,

It`s my first thread here, and i hope you`ll excuse me because of my bad English. I`m also hoping that This Forum can help me to learn English and get some information about old tape recorders. Thanks.

I`ve bought the tape recorder Grundig TK-30, but I don`t know anything about this mashine.
Does anyone of You have a schematic, any technical data, scanned manual or interesting links about it? Also interesting for information about Philips Type EL3547A/00A.

If yes, please let me know. I`d like to repair this recorder but cannot find an information by myself.

Let me recommend You to visit Russian Old Radio Museum Site -
http://oldradio.onego.ru

English version available.

Apologise for your English? You must be joking - it's better than about 75%
of our university graduates can manage these days.

Terrific link! Thank-you.

I am sure that someone here will be able to assist you with a schematic - I thought I had one for that model, but it appears not.

I think you might be the only Russian here ..... an excuse to get the samogen out!

David

Hi Digger,
A schematic is available on Paul Stenning's main site at http://www.vintage-radio.com/index.shtml. See the "service data via e-mail" section.

Kak deela Digger! (hope that's spelt right - have a brother who lives in Moscow)

I have scanned the pages for the TK30 from my R2R manual and they are available here :

http://www.geocities.com/skilpadkos/tk30.jpg (page one)
http://www.geocities.com/skilpadkos/tk31.jpg (page two)

Two rather big files so you might want to save them to desktop before printing.

The TK30 is a two speed 7 1/2/ and 3 3/4 IPS two track R2R with maximum spool 7 in.

To dismantle pull off speed-change knob, undo four coin slotted screws and lift off top plate with stop/start and fast wind keys held down. Undo four 3BA nuts securing chassis to cabinet. Pull out loudspeaker plug and lift chassis from cabinet vertically.

Cheers,
Andrew (RSA)

Thanks for everyone!
Where is my oscilloscope and soldering iron

Now I can test and repair my new old magnetophone

I think that Vintaje Radio is an "international virus", which helps all of us to keep our hands and heads in a good condition.

BTW, our old radio museum http://oldradio.onego.ru has a forum that looks and works just like Yours, so if You have any questions about Russian Radio and Russian Tubes, please welcome!
P.S. I've heard that a "Grundig with a little green eye" was the first machine on which the very early Beatles made their first home records.
McCartney tells so at the beginning of the "Anthology 1"

Does anybody know what kind of a model it was? Something like TK-5?

Thanks, Vasilii.

Hello Vasilii
I'm sorry if I can't help you with the Beatles-issue,but I did a simple Google-search for the EL 3547(don't worry about what's coming after the /-sign,since it only points out which country that made the machine)and found some sites with pictures of it.At the sixth post even the schematic!Good luck!

Thank You. Google search.... Mmmm I`ll try this feature. I hope I`ll find what I need. Yandex didn`n find a schematic.

Would You like to see "Grundig tk-5 like" russian magnetophone?
Model "Kometa-MG-201m" ("Comet-MG-201m") It looks like Grundig TK-5,
but has different schematic, and completely different mechanism.

It has 3 speed (4.76, 9.53, and 19.05 cm/sec) (15/16, 3 3/4, 7 1/2 ips). Frequency range is 40-14000, 63-10000, 63-6000 Hz).

Early version of it, 1959.

My Kometa 201m (attachment)

Would You like to see different Russian apparates from time to time, or should I post them in another branch, tell me please!
I don`t wanna be an impudent fellow (this is from dictionary).

Thank You!
