Default Collaro Conquest in EAR Music Maker.

Ive been interested in these and though it just to start learning about them so managed to pickup a COllaro Conquest in the EarMusic maker.

There is power but no movement from the motor so i presume it would be the motor.

I have the original instructions for servicing but may need a few bits and pieces of info off here.

Mainly how to get to the motor. the motor is very stiff but moving so it hasnt seized.

I was looking at getting the collaro out of the case but i cant seem to find anything online in regards to this? any one have any instructions for how to remove it? i would make it so much easier!!

Another useful link for a Collaro deck.

If the motor is very stiff it may just need cleaning and lubricant, don't write it off until you have it running free by hand.

Yer the plan was to service it and see if anything fixes it. It turns but is very stiff, so a opening up of it and a oiling shall be done to see if anything helps.

Thats the first port of call! and a good clean!!

What I normally do is remove the motor from the chassis, remove the pulley and fan, undo the two bolts holding the middle section which houses the bearing and remove it, it may be very stiff.

Remove the two screws holding the bearing in place, take care not to lose the steel ball bearing.

Soak the bearing and the felt oil pad in Isopropyl alcohol and get rid of all the old oil.

Do the same for the top bearing.

Now clean the shaft of the rotor.

Soak the bearings in oil, preferably sewing machine oil and reassemble.

Do not just oil the bearings, it will seize up sooner rather than later.

One of my first ever record players as a kid, happy memories!
As far as I recall, you need to remove the panels at the side of the deck and unscrew the board the deck is mounted on, you can then lift it up and gain access to the underside where the motor is visible. Lift carefully without tugging, watch out for any wires.
I am sure others will correct me if I am wrong on any of the above!
