RS Contact Treatment Oil. Any good?
I have had this unused can a few years and wonder if it is any good? It is permanently discontinued on their site but is described as RS Pro contact treatment products. The product data sheet revision is dated June 2009
Reason I ask is my Servisol super 10 is now empty. Tanks, Rob

Re: RS Contact Treatment Oil. Any good?
This is guesswork, but I wonder whether it's designed to be applied AFTER using a cleaning product such as the DeOxit product without lubricant?
AFAIK, Super 10 serves both purposes, which is why I like it. |

Re: RS Contact Treatment Oil. Any good?
Thanks Nick. I just tried a tiny spot on my finger and it feels slippery, doesnt dry quickly. Now washed it off!

Re: RS Contact Treatment Oil. Any good?
I wonder if it's really any different to ordinary light machine oil.

Re: RS Contact Treatment Oil. Any good?
I never used it, but remember seeing it. I always assumed it was basically the same stuff as the electrolube pens, that is a cleaner / lubricant. I hope it's not the same as a light oil, as I've seen light oil on switch contacts with a DC voltage and heat, decompose to a conductive substance and cause real problems!

Re: RS Contact Treatment Oil. Any good?
I wonder if this was the successor to the contact cleaning "pens"?
