The Fluke 25/7 was certainly approved for use by the US mining industry but whether or not it was designed for that specific purpose is less clear. Someone who worked for Fluke a few decades ago might know for sure I guess.

Any luck with the dirty holster Mr B?

Yes it worked nicely actually. Needed a scrub with a nail brush as well but did the job. Thanks for the tip! I'll post a photo when I get a few minutes.

I tried it on a cheap Tenma DMM case first if I'm honest

Also only left it 30 minutes. That appeared to be enough.
